Crispy Potato Pakora

Potatoes and Bengalis have a very close association. The crispy Potato Pakoras recipe is a guest post by Maashimoni (DC's maasi). She is an expert cook and this recipe is just the beginning of brilliant recipes to follow!

Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes

  • Potatoes - 3 medium sized, sliced finely
  • Green Chilies - 2, finely chopped
  • Flour / Atta - 2 tbsp.
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp.
  • Salt - to taste
  • Mustard oil - to fry
  • Finely slice the potatoes and keep the same in a bowl. Add finely chopped green chilies to the potatoes.
  • Now add the salt, turmeric powder and flour / atta. We add flour to bind the potatoes together. Too much or too little will spoil the taste.
  • In a deep pan, heat mustard oil. When hot enough, make small patties of the potato mix and fry till golden brown.
  • Serve hot!!

  • These delicious crispy pakoras can be had as a snack or even with rice and daal / khichdi.
  • These pakoras go really well with Mint Chutney!
